Ig Infusions

Now that you know what PIDD is- lets discuss the treatment. The best way to get the antibodies that my body needs is to do an intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) once a month or to do subcutaneous immunoglobulin (SCIG or Sub-Q) once a week, for the rest of my life. The immunoglobulin products are blood products that contain pooled IgG (or antibodies) collected and extracted from thousands of blood and plasma donors (usually no less than 8,000). After years of freezing and cleaning the plasma the end product is given to me! Overall this helps me fight off infection and prevents me from getting sick and feeling fatigued all the time.
